How do I chose a collision or refinish centre?
As the owner of a motor vehicle damaged in an accident, you have the right to chose the shop where you wish to have your vehicle repaired.
Do I need more than 1estimate?
NO. Do not waste your time. Select a facility that you feel comfortable with, then notify your broker or insurance company, or ask the shop to make the call on your behalf. Your insurance adjuster/appraise will have to inspect the damage. This can be done at the shop you have chosen.
Do I notify my insurance company?
Before authorizing any repairs notify your insurance company or broker, and tell them where the damaged vehicle can be inspected.
Is the work guaranteed?
Ask the repair facility about it's guarantee prior to any repair on your vehcile.
How do I know who is a qualified collision centre?
Look for signs that indicate technician training and certification.
What do I look for when picking up my vehicle?
Inspect the repairs before you drive away! Check the appearance of the repair close-up and from a distance. Examine the paint for colour match, texture and overspray. Take a test drive to check mechanical repairs. Check that the vehicle is clean. if you are not completely satisfied mention your concerns immediatly.
